So Long A Letter by Mariama Ba and Blood wedding party by Frederico Garcia Lorcadissertation Characters that cause broad pain to another, especi anyy totheir consorts, ease up to death in the schoolbooks So Long A Letter andBlood Wedding by Mariama B and Federico Garca Lorca respectively.Death is one aspect of life that prevents a person from beinginvincible. It is one of the inevitable occurrences that a man has to bring forth to. In the texts So Long A Letter and Blood Wedding by MariamaB and Federico Garca Lorca respectively, death is a poignant themethat has prevailed throughout the course of the text. The question iswhether the deaths of characters in these texts are deserved, anddevised by the authors ascribable to the immense pain dispensed by thesecharacters to their consorts.Firstly, So Long A Letter by Mariama B which is a letter cum diaryfrom Ramatoulaye to her best friend Aissatou depicts the series ofevents that have stickn place in the past, mainly portraying th elamentation of three women (Ramatoulaye, Aissatou and Jacqueline) payableto their husbands lack of commitment. Moreover, this text outlinesthe Senegalese way of living and how the Muslim society acceptspolygamy demoily. As we read the text, we are introduced to Modou Fall, the husband toRamatoulaye, who died of an unknown cause. In my opinion, his deathwas destined due to the everlasting pain he dispensed to his wife. This is because of his abrupt decision to take a second wife and hisabandonment of his family. This was a very portentous situation asModou walked out on Ramatoulaye and his twelve children to go and mend relations with a girl the age of his daughter. Although hemarried her committing polygamy which was sanc... ...trated temper the Mother isin since she has lost all her family members now including herultimate apprehend of survival her son, the Bridegroom.Accordingly, I perceive that the Bridegroom deserved to die as hedispensed pain and grief not only to the Brid e hardly also to his mother. All in all, we have seen that the statement characters that causeimmense pain to another, especially to their consorts, succumb todeath is apt. Moreover, it can be learnt make this piece of work thatthe consequence of the action you perform will be commensurate to theintensity of that action. Therefore, Modou Fall, Leonardo and theBridegroom all deserved to succumb to death. Last but not the least,it can be noted that all the characters that cause immense pain toothers in both the texts are the antheral characters while the recipientsof such pain are the female characters.
